Vertigo preps content affiliate system

Vertigo Agency is readying the roll out of its MPEX mobile content affiliate system

In simple terms, MPEX (Mobile Portal Exchange) is a bespoke platform that generates a network of ring-fenced, off-deck WAP sites, the idea being to create a virtuous circle of visitor traffic that benefits both site 'promoters' and content providers alike.

So, a promoter (a magazine publisher, for example) gets to choose what content (such as video clips) it offers on its Network from the catalogue of approved MPEX providers. That site then contains (unique to promoter) banner links to other sites within the marketplace, thus keeping users within the network.

Revenue from content purchases is split between Vertigo, site promoter and content provider. This means there's even greater incentive for companies acting as both promoters and content providers.

Vertigo says the system is fully compliant with Payforit and wider industry regulations, and provides clients with live stats and scheduled royalty payments. It will initially rollout in the UK, Spain, Australia and South Africa.

In terms of content, Vertigo already has extensive relationships within the adult industry, with the likes of New Sensations, Playhouse, Load XXX and Harmony among the MPEX content providers and promoters. Now, it's looking to expand its non-adult offering, with Player X and Melodi Media already on board.

Dean Butler, Account Director at Vertigo, told ME: "We're absolutely open to all comers, both Promoters and Content Suppliers, particularly now on the non-sexual side, games, music specialists, any innovative content/applications. The key thing is that partners will benefit from every individual MPEX network, regardless of where the surfer finally buys from. We are also keen to speak with International Aggregators who wish to bolt Mpex into their existing billing infrastructures and customer bases.”
